Veterinary diagnostics are the tests that help in determining and identifying various disorders in animals. These procedures are performed via methods that utilise blood, urine, faeces and tissue samples.
The new methods and technologies that have been developed for human diagnostics are also utilised extensively in veterinary diagnostics. Methods used in veterinary diagnostics include immunodiagnostics, hematology, molecular testing (including nucleic acid testing) and clinical chemistry.
We have identified a promising biomarker that has been shown to detect sepsis and inflammation in neonatal and adult horses. Feasibility studies for this biomarker assay will be conducted to evaluate the commercial viability of this test as a point of care product.
This new product will form the initial basis of our IP portfolio in diagnostics.
